Is it worth saving energy when "everything is fine"?There are large oil and gas reserves, major hydroelectric plants and many nuclear reactors. Is it really not enough? That's enough, but you still need to save, because ...
The International Energy Saving Day was established relatively recently, on November 11, 2008.The initiator of the strike was the "environmental network" about the use of resources and energy.
It seems that children come with a holiday for themselves, they have fun, adults do not care about it.In fact, the holiday was not invented by children, but by adults and responsible people who care about the fate of humanity and the planet.
Unfortunately, not all of us see the need to save energy, so it is very important to have a school project that initiates energy saving day.If children understand why they save energy, they will not have to convince adults about the importance of taking care of resources in the future.
And yet - why? What does the energy saver give us?
1. Money
Everything is simple with money. We use less energy - we pay less for it.Perhaps someone will receive something disrespectful: "Here, it counts in a small amount!"But this is only one benefit of saving energy.
2. Convenience
A significant part of energy costs is spent on maintaining a comfortable temperature at home and in the office. In winter - for heating, in summer - for air conditioning.
A properly configured climate system not only uses energy efficiently, but also provides comfortable "air at home".No one freezes in winter, no one slows down from idleness in summer.
3. Nature
The share of "green" renewable sources in global energy production is constantly increasing. But the amount of "Clean" energy we get from burning gas, coal and petroleum products will soon not be equal.
By burning hydrocarbons, not only do we release harmful amounts into the atmosphere, but our animals, rivers and lakes suffer as well.
If we use less energy, get less dirt from the dirt, our health, our forests and cleanup. Most of our children will be able to see a stork, stork or roe deer from the bars of a zoo, but outside the window of a train or car.
4. Climate
Not a day goes by without the media reporting on a new hurricane, catastrophic heat wave, flood or drought.Scientists blame global warming for this and link it to the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the planet's atmosphere.
One of the strongest pollutants of the atmosphere is energy with carbon dioxide. We can stop negative climate processes by reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
Skeptics claim that nothing has been proven to show that the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations is not a cause, but a consequence of warming. Is this a reason to give up something that could harm our planet? Is it too dangerous to wait for valid confirmation?Who will wait for them and who will they need if the point of no return is passed?Certainly not us, not to us.
5. Economy and technology
Lower energy costs for production, lower the price, the higher the competitiveness of our goods, the more efficient the economy.
Efficient energy consumption stimulates scientific thinking and the development of modern technologies.Remember when American cars stopped pumping gas on highways? After the first energy crisis in 1973.
The latest technologies provide technological leadership, make products more competitive and increase the country's economic and military security.
6. Children
We all work, have fun, argue about politics and rush up the career ladder. But we live for the sake of our children, do we?
The less we use the planet's resources, the more will be left for our children and grandchildren. Is it worth it just to save energy?
